Arabic Keyboard Online: Type Arabic with the Keyboard You Already Have

No Arabic layout to learn, no software to install. Type a word the way it sounds – marhaba – and get مرحبا in Arabic script, ready to paste into WhatsApp, an email or a document.

In short: type in Latin letters → choose the spelling you want → Copy → paste anywhere. It works on phones, tablets and computers.

How it works

  1. Type the word as it sounds, for example shukran. Numbers work too: 3 for ع, 7 for ح and 5 for خ – the way Arabic speakers write in chats.
  2. The Arabic script appears instantly. If a word can be spelled in more than one way, you get alternatives to tap.
  3. Press Copy and paste the result into any app.

Using the result in WhatsApp, e-mail and documents

Arabic is written from right to left, and the letters change shape depending on their position in a word. When you paste the result into a chat or document, your device takes care of that automatically. If a line looks odd in an older app, paste it into a plain text field first and copy it again from there.

Good to know

The converter works phonetically: it compares your input with word lists and picks the most likely Arabic spelling. Many words have several valid spellings, so check the alternatives under the result. For official documents, tattoos or anything permanent, always have the spelling confirmed by a native speaker of Arabic.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. The keyboard runs in your browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download and no account to create.

Is it really free?

Yes. The tools are free to use. Some other pages on the site show ads or Amazon affiliate links, which are always labelled.

What happens to the text I type?

It is sent to our server only to be converted and is not stored. Details are in the privacy policy, which is available in German.

Does it understand dialect words like “yalla” or “habibi”?

Yes, common everyday and chat words are recognised. For formal writing, use standard spelling and have important texts checked by a native speaker.

Can I also type with a real Arabic keyboard layout?

Yes. Our interactive layout shows where every letter sits on your keyboard, and the typing trainer helps you learn it.
